Financial Freedom — Money Management Workshops and Coaching
Program Coordinator — Dream Youth Clinic · 2026
Youth at Dream Youth Clinic were navigating real financial pressures — managing public benefits, parenting, and the transition into adulthood — often without access to financial education or trusted guidance. A baseline survey I ran with our youth participants confirmed the depth of the gap: Few could cover a $400 emergency, yet many carried the eagerness to learn how to budget or save despite not having the tools.
I designed and built Financial Freedom, a financial literacy and coaching program combining a 6-topic, rotating workshop series (budgeting, credit, saving, investing, taxes, and banking), 1-on-1 financial coaching, and self-paced digital learning through MyPath’s MyMoney platform. When early signals showed that a purely voluntary, un-incentivized model risked low turnout, I redesigned the delivery strategy — embedding shortened workshop content directly inside three existing Dream programs with built-in attendance, rather than relying on standalone draw. The program also created two paid intern positions, adding a workforce-development layer alongside the direct financial education.
Financial Freedom was designed in June 2026, made to reach youth across multiple Dream program cohorts, with pre/post surveys built in to track growth in financial confidence, savings behavior, and goal completion over time.
